CHURCH NEWS – May 25

Ryan Dean will be bringing the message this Sunday, May 27, entitled, “A Goal Greater than Home and
Health” from Acts 21:1-16.
Evangelism Team Canvassing – This Sunday, May 27 @ 4:00 p.m. We go out once a month to share the Gospel with our neighbors and invite them into the life of our church. We go out as groups of 3, so no need to fear. If you’d like to give it a shot, we’d love to have you. Contact Van Williams 662.592.2881.
Deacons’ Meeting – Wednesday, May 29 at 6:00 pm.
Young Women’s Bible Study – Will meet this summer on Wednesdays from 10-11:30 in the parlor, now through August 1 to study 1 Samuel. Childcare is provided for infant school-aged children. Contact Leslie Dean 601.260.2288 for more info.
Young Men’s Study – Will meet Tuesday mornings at Meraki from 6-7:00 am. We’ll be going through the book “Act Like Men” by James MacDonald. Contact Mark Noland 662.902.6130 for more info.
Sunday School Classes – This summer all adult classes will come together to study the book of Galatians. We will also dedicate one Sunday a month to highlight a missionary or ministry we support. Next Sunday (June 3), our guest will be Rev. Hunter Brewer, Ministry Coordinator of the Mid-South Church Planting Network! Under Rev. Brewer’s leadership, many new PCA churches are being planted in our region. FPC is now a supporting church of the MSCPN.

Garrett Bass and Krysta Smith Wedding Party – Prayers for safe travels and good health for all family
members involved in the wedding during week of June 1.
Gramm Phillips and Anna Kathryn Christenson Wedding Party – Prayers for safe travels and good
health for all family members involved in the wedding during week of June 9.
Pat Stoltman – Back home from surgery. Continue to pray that this latest procedure will be effective
in completely healing her foot.
Holt Family – Prayers for all affected by the car wreck involving Patrick.
Jane Draper – Neal’s mother, age 89, is improving and being cared for at home by nurses and Neal’s father, age 92. Prayers for continued improvement.
Sybil Foster – Alice’s mother still needs our continued prayers.
Carnita Williams – Feeling better and asked for continued prayers for her gravely ill sister.
Patsy Walton, Brandon Walton’s mother – Prayers for continued improvement at home.
Sally Kittell Clurman’s husband, Mike – Prayers as his chemo treatments had to be interrupted.

Backyard Bible Club

This summer our church will be putting on a Backyard Bible Club. You can register below. Please call the church office with any questions.

Grade student will be in for the school year beginning Fall 2018

The Backyard Bible Club is provided free to the community. You are not obligated to give any form of compensation or gift to First Presbyterian Church as a result of your attendance. You will not be contacted by a staff member at First Presbyterian Church unless it is in reference to this event, or unless otherwise noted above.

CHURCH NEWS – May 18

 

Ryan Dean will be bringing the message this Sunday, May 20, entitled, “A Life That’ll Preach” from
Acts 20:17-38.
Missionaries Haruaki and Asami Odate from Japan will be sharing their testimony and musical talents at
morning worship service this Sunday. They will also be visiting and sharing in the Young Adult Sunday
School class. Any who are interested in hearing about church planting in Japan are welcomed to join us.
Outreach Team Meeting – Sunday, May 20 at 12:30 pm.
Shepherding Team Meeting – Wednesday, May 23 at Noon.
Evangelism Team Outreach – Sunday, May 27 at 4:00 pm.
Deacons’ Meeting – Wednesday, May 29 at 6:00 pm.
